Important Update about Sainsbury's Everyday Shopping Card

Sainsbury's are delighted to let you know that the Give as you Live shopping card service will soon be expanding. The new service, Cards for Causes, will now include many more retailers, helping you raise even more for your charity through a variety of shopping card available.

Unfortunately, after a successful year in partnership with Give as you Live, Sainsbury's have decided to exit the Raise with Sainsbury's scheme as their focus for charity activity is on further developing their own local community programmes. How will it affect you?

  • Sainsbury's Everyday Shopping Cards will continue to be issued and can be topped up until 27th February 2016. After this point, the Sainsbury's Everyday Shopping Card holders will have two years to redeem card balances in store.
  • Reoccurring payments will automatically be cancelled after 27th February 2016.
  • Card holders will automatically be offered the alternative Cards for Causes account upon launch.

What date does the Raise with Sainsbury's scheme close?

27th of February 2016. Please note any funds remaining on these cards can be spent in store two years after the close date.

What will happen to existing funds that are loaded onto supporters cards?

Supporters will have two years to spend any funds remaining on their Raise with Sainsbury's cards. Users will have access to their account panel and dashboard during this period.

When will the Raise with Sainsbury's site be taken down?

The website will remain online and functional to allow balances to be checked on cards and for users who may need to request replacement cards. The 'add cash' function on the Raise with Sainsbury's website will be taken down at 23:00 on 27/02/2015.

When will the new gift card scheme become available?

What do I do with the card once I have spent the remaining balance?

Once any remaining balance is spent, the card can be disposed. No sensitive information or bank details are held on the card.

Will my recurring payments automatically stop after the end date?

Yes, all users recurring payments will automatically be cancelled after the 27th of February 2016.

Do I need to close my account?

No action is required; users will be offered a simple switchover to our new Cards for Causes service in due course, if so desired.
